Coffee and Conversations 

To build community and welcome families into the school, we’re excited to introduce Coffee and Conversations - a monthly gathering held in the James Short Memorial School staffroom. This is a great opportunity for parents and guardians to meet and connect with Principal Lisa Taylor and Assistant Principal Meaghan Boutillier in a relaxed, informal setting. Coffee and tea will be provided, and everyone is welcome. We hope to see you there! 

Our first Coffee and Conversations will be - Tuesday, September 23rd 10:40am-11:10am. 

Dismissal Doors 

To help keep dismissal smooth and safe, each class will dismiss from an assigned door (see the list below). If you have siblings and would like them to meet and dismiss together from the younger child’s door, please let the office know so we can arrange this. 

We also have designated doors for daycare pick-ups to ensure everything runs efficiently. Please help us by staying back from the doorway so teachers and students can easily see who is being picked up. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping dismissal organized and safe!

Birthday Food/sharing of food 

We know that birthdays are special days when students want to bring a treat to share with their classmates. Due to a variety of dietary restrictions, and in keeping with the CBE nutrition guidelines, we ask that birthday treats be reserved for parties at home. We are not able to hand out cupcakes, candy, cookies, popsicles etc. at school. 

Indoor Shoes 

All students require indoor shoes.  We have a collection of gently used shoes for anyone that may require support.  If you wish, come to the main office to browse the collection.
