Breakfast Program

James Short School offers a breakfast program for students who do not have breakfast at home. This is a sponsored program, paid for by donations and non-government organizations that raise money so that children at our school can have a healthy breakfast at school and a good start to the day. We offer breakfast every morning in the library starting at 8:50 am.

Birthday Food and Treat Bags

We know that birthdays are special days when students want to bring a treat to share with their classmates. Due to a variety of dietary restrictions, and in keeping with the CBE nutrition guidelines, we ask that birthday treats be reserved for parties at home. We are not able to hand out cupcakes, candy, cookies, popsicles etc. at school.

Winter Clothing

We have a collection of gently used and new winter clothing – coats, snow pants, boots, hats, and gloves.  If you are in need of these items, please see Shelly in the office.

Halloween

Students are encouraged to wear school-appropriate costumes. Please note that masks and weapons are not allowed. If you don’t have a costume, feel free to wear black and orange if you'd like!
